Beaver Nuggets – Lots of Nuggets

I’ve been told this is one of the favorite snacks of the great state of Texas. Beaver Nuggets. And though they are immediately available at Buc-ees, you can also get them through Amazon. And that’s good for me, for the closest Buc-ees is quite a bit away – hours and hours.

They are sweet ‘nuggets’ of delightfully taste of sweetness and saltiness. They are baked, golden puffs of corn … coated with brown sugar caramel. I am gaining weight just typing about the Beaver Nuggets. They get their name from the mascot of this Texas-based chain.

When I travel to Texas, I pass at least four Bus-ees along the path. I aim to stop there every time I can, even if I don’t really need gas. Clean bathrooms, large selectoin, 24-hours. I accomplished my Christmas shopping there, I’ve gotten toys for the grandkids, and I get decorations for my wife’s office. It has a wide selection of, well everything.

Now, on my travels, I go by 81 – 40 – 30 – 635 – 35. But this month, on Interstate 10, at a little stop south of Austin, in Luling, Tx – the largest has opened.

75,000 square feet. 120 gas pumps. 120! I mean, in my little town of Appomattox, I am not sure we can break triple digits counting all the gas stations in the county.

ONE HUNDRED TWENTY!

I know they do everything bigger in Texas, but WOW!

To any who does road trips from the east coast to Texas, these are a great places, day or night.

I get caffeine … I get Wiley Wallaby Licorice … And I get gas (which last week was 2.89 in Texas (50 cents less than here)).

What do you get at your Buc-ees stop?
