Drawn to the Light

A moth to the flame … there are no definite answers as to why this takes place. Many used to attribute it to the light of the moon. Some have said it has to do with the light spectrum and the moth is actually avoiding some of the light and draw to others.

But there is another theory that light is like a pheromone to the male moths. It draws them in, then zap. Love, it brings out some cool and crazy stuff. Kind of like love in humans. We are drawn in and then … zap. I like this description, it explains a lot.

This weekend, I shared on the light of Jesus. If we lift that light, reflect that light, and shine that light before men, they will be drawn to the light.

Arise, shine, for your light has come,

and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,

and thick darkness the peoples;

but the Lord will arise upon you,

and his glory will be seen upon you.

And nations shall come to your light,

and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Today, as we see a His light shine in creation, in relationships, from His Word, all around us … may we be drawn to Him. May we seek that light, and may we share that light. And for if no other reason, may we be drawn to the light for that light is about a His love for us.

Have blessed week.
