Lives Touching Lives

First – Thanks for all the shout outs, wishes, funny memes (thank you that none were with cats), crazy photos from my history, phone calls (the one from Caleb Tuck was my best surprise), cards, and all the wonderful thoughts. I tried to respond to them personally, but I may have missed a few. I hope you all know how much they all mean to me.

Second – Thanks for reading this blog. I do it to share thoughts, ideas, updates, and insights. I also do it to challenge each one of us to look at the world from a Biblical world view This is not easy, for the world pushes their world view – so we need to make every effort to stay in the Word and see the world the way the Creator sees it.

Third – the cupcakes from Sprinkles were fabulous. I had two. The first I halved with a regular guest at the hotel – It was just after midnight – just moments into my birthday. It was dark chocolate with sprinkles. He is one of my favorite guest – a Russian Jew that I talk to for hours into the morning every couple of months when he travels through Dallas.  It is interesting how different individuals paths cross due to circumstances outside of our control – but yet opportunities to share God’s truths.

The second cupcake – a black and white chocolate piece of heavenly delight. I halved it that with my wife as soon as I got home from the graveyard shift. I am not sure which was sweeter, the cupcakes or the sharing some time with Lisa. Nah, I know – it was the time with Lisa.

So that brings me to my fourth and last point – All the mentions, cards, calls, and Facebook shout outs can not replace the time we spend with people, the time of personal interaction and face to face communication. So maybe put down the mobile phone, get your face out of the technology for a bit, and spend some time with people you care about and who care about you. Do activities that allow you to interact. People need people.

All the mentions, cards, calls, and Facebook shout outs can not replace the time we spend with people, the time of personal interaction and face to face communication

Fifth – I know, I said fourth was my last point, but oops. Fifth – I miss my friends in Va and NC and La. I miss fellowships, lunches, hanging out, hiking together, worshipping together, and more. But until we can spend time together again, I want to be here for those that cross my path in the here-n-now. May God use me in the lives of people right now. And may you too be invested in the lives of others – today, right here, right now.

Have a great week – and have it sharing it with others.

About Todd K Estes

In this journey called Life, it gets a bit muddy - But Jesus sees beyond the mud and sees the person He created, the person He loves, and the person He is still working on. I am one of those persons - and so are you. I am a sold-out follower of Jesus, husband way out of my league, father to a great son, part of the family of God, and pastor of a great church family - Evergreen Baptist in Appomattox.
