Yesterday, I went to Richmond to visit someone. It was a very vexing.
First – I couldn’t park in the parking garage. My FJ was a bit too tall. Actually, way too tall. So I had to park on the street. And in that area, that time of day … I had to park several blocks away. Not that I don’t need the steps, so it was fine.
Here is the rub. I had to pay for parking by using the app. As I tried, the first attempt using Apple Pay failed. So, I did it a second time. This time, I got the phone/app notice of success and began my trek to my destination.
Upon return, well within the two hour limit, I found a little piece of paper under my windshield wiper.

What? Who? Why? I immediately read it and factored my response. I called the number on the notice and was told … in Richmond, it is illegal to pay for the same spot in consecutive order … a driver must move at least 400 yards to another zone … and since I submitted the payment twice (albeit the first failed) I was in violation of repetitious parking in the same zone.
It would cost more to return and appeal the infraction.
I was penalized for trying to make sure I paid properly. Eeghads.
Next, I left downtown and headed to REI. And right before I got there, I got a notice my car keys were lost. But I was driving. With the said lost keys. Again, vexing. I realized my Apple Tag had come detached and was back downtown.
I exited and turn around and headed back to the DT location my ‘find my device’ indicated. Forty-five minutes lost. I did find it and the nice leather fob holder encasing it.

Not the most calming of events!
Life doesn’t always go the way we desire. But we can still trust God in every step of the way.
Think of Mary (the Mary of Mary & Joseph) … abrupt upheaval, unplanned pregnancy, relocated due to census, pregnancy … but yet, always keeping it in her heart.
Think of Joseph (hubby to Marry) … fiancee pregnant (not by him), relocation due to census, having to support the new kid, running for his life to Egypt … but yet, obedience and trust of God.
Think of the shepherds … frightened by bright angelic beings singing in the dark night sky, waking people up in the middle of the night, all for a newborn … believed and worshipped.
Christmas, nay, life is full of surprises, good and bad. But God is bigger than all of them
And that is something to say , “Wohoo!”
I Choose JOY!!!!
