Road Trip Spring 2025 – C plus

This is an early morning addition to the Road Trip Spring 2025 – C

We have one full day inside the park. It is early as I sit on the porch chair looking out over the Window – that wonderful nature’s gift of a gap in the mountains facing west from the Chisos Basin.

Here is last nights sunset and this mornings subverted sunrise …

The air has a crisp 50+ coolness and the skies are turning bluer from the velvet darkness that it was just an hour before.

I had walked the window view trail and took it all in.

Behind me, clouds rolling over the high buttes (which my son has endless joy in saying while mispronouncing) .

People are beginning to stir. Cars and hikers headed out. Birds chirping. This place does Texas proud.

Now, I only have a day – and even that is limited as my legacies burn that daylight …

But breakfast offerings begin soon, and the coffee will taste sweet.

We will see what this day holds. I am excited.
