Road Trip Spring Trip 2025 – D

What a great full day Saturday. With literal ups and downs on the first trail.

Downs

• We did the Windows Trail —- one of the highlights of Big Bend – and the walk from the trail head to the vista was 2.5 miles down hill
• I have never fallen when I use the trekking poles … but today, I left the poles in the FJ … so, I fell down, hard
• Going down with me was the grandson and Spin/Spidey friend
• They were fine, dusty but fine … and I blackened my ankle and bloodied my knees … nothing the restrictions in duct tape didn’t take care of
• The Sun going down was spectacular
• With the sun going down, we hung outside to watch the dark skies — but the bright moon kept it less dark than expected

Ups …

• What walked down, walked up … and coming back up seemed longer than the down
• Coming up, the 3 year old grandson lost all mojo, so he had to be lifted up
• He was lifted up in a hiking back pack carrier … quite a work out for his father

• My fall required a get up – slower than I used to do … and my son laughed
• Being up late also meant beautiful sky / though bright

More took place, but being Sunday, and traveling today – the more will come later
