Wait. ’26?
Yes, plans now are in the works. Much because many reservation begin a year in advance. So I am looking to the Pacific North West – 3 National Parks in the great Evergreen State – Washington.
I am not sure of details but I am looking at North Cascades NP, Mt. Rainer NP, and Olympic NP.

Already the excitement is beginning. The plans are being made. Youtube and Documentaries are being viewed.
Some things already in concrete …
- My wife refuses to drive across country. Apparently, one long road trip with me was the last long road trip with me.
- We will be there in whale migration season – there be whales.
- We will miss the Twilight Fest – the annual festival on Forks, the filming and mythical land of Werewolves and Vampires. (Yes, we will miss it on puroipse!)
Some maybe things …
- First Starbucks in Seattle
- Whale watching cruise
- Salmon watching (migration season too!)
- Ross Lake cabins – can’t get there by road, only by boat. (these start reservations by lottery on Jan 1)
If you’ve been there, what do you recommend? What part of the huge Olympic NP do you like? We can’t do it all (way too big!)
I am ready – what are you ready for in 2026?
