In CowTown (Fort Worth)

We got there in time to see little Joseph have his 1 Day birthday. Grandma (Bubbish) had the precious time holding the tiny bundle of love. PapaDude (grandfather me) pretty much spent most of my time with the other two, and my first born (the father of Joseph).

We went out to eat. I took the eldest to the hotel two nights. We had a day at the Fort Worth Zoo, Lego Land in Grapevine, walked the mall, and spent time reading the newest books I brought him.

Let’s dwell on the book for a minute … Grumpy Monkey. Yes, you read that correct, Grumpy Monkey.

Grumpy Monkey … a little animal named Jim Panzee … seems to struggle with grumpiness.

Now I’ve seen Grumpy Bunny and Grumpy Pirate and Grumpy everything. They are pretty cute, but Jim Panzee takes it to the next level with Manu books, various levels of reading, and all the gifts that could go with it … like a Grumpy Monkey stuffed animal.

I don’t want to promote grumpiness, I want to promote gratitude and joy. But this world is way too overflowing of grumpy people. You want to battle that? Smile and return kindness to grumpiness. Counter it and be the smiling face.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TOWN on this trip …
– Café Brazil at 4am (University area)
– Seven Mile Cafe … Lisa’s favorite Latte and Oatmeal
– Black Bear Diner … hearty breakfast for anytime, Sammy got waffles
– Marty B’s … a dinner date with just my wife, and ice cream to cap it off
– Tecovas … my bison-leathered boots shined and new work boots for Calvin
– WestLake TX … a tiny little Mediterranean type of community
– Fort Worth Zoo … one of the best in the US
– Lego Land … a bit too old for the kids but it had its moments

Been to Fort Worth? What is your favorite “go to” spot?

Final Comment … a bit sad, but it’s powerful PsyOp of my kids using the grandkids against me and the fact I live far away … this is when we just said goodbye …
