A penny? Seems kind of cheap. But if we had to put a price on what we were really thinking, would that be charging too much?
This world is weird. We hate the negative news but we often are drawn to it. We leave the news on and are almost addicted to it. We might yell at the TV, say some adjectives about reports or reporters with which we disagree, or even throw pillows at the screen (this is not a confession, well, not always.)
We watch some sports to see the disaster – Nascar for the wrecks, MMA for the pummeling, NFL for the tough hit – all the while not wanting people to get hurt.
We listen to music or watch shows that degrade women, show disdain for traditional marriage, or use words that would make our mother wash our mouth out with soap. And then, we wonder why we find ourselves slipping in words we say or thoughts we have.
In my life, I have an issue of thinking with a hint of sarcasm in my view of others and actions of others. In doing this, I struggle with often seeing things in a negative way. This is not healthy. People don’t understand when I am trying to be funny and often see negative coming out of my mouth. So how do I work on this? How do you work on your issue (and yes, we all have issues)? It all starts with the basic understanding that the thoughts of my mind control the actions of my life.

As a man thinks so is he.
So what is the answer? – change your thinking, change your life.
Change your thinking – change your life.
Maybe it’s a habit your trying to break, a thought process your trying to overcome, or an world view you are trying to change. Whatever the situation, let me share three verses …
Take every thought captive – 2 Cor 10.5
Renew your mind – Rom 12.2
Think the positive – Phil 4.8
Monday I will dig a bit deeper into this, but for today, just read these verses and think about them.
Final note … I plan on returning to the posting of my blog to earlier in the day – still adapting to a new schedule.
