Every morning the sun rises. I see it break the horizon and its splendor lights the sky. The evidence starts way before. The darkness fades. The stars disappear. The Black turns grey then eventually a grandeur of orange and blue in the East.
Every night the sun sets. The shadow from the tree line creeps higher and higher as I view out of the large picture window in my living area. Again, the orange hue takes dominance over the blue. For just a few minutes, often mere seconds, there the splendor of the sunset takes the horizon in the west.
I feel a bit empty when clouds block the view. I also feel a bit minuscule when I see the plethora of stars in the night sky. What is man? Where the is our place in this grand universe? These questions have probably been asked since man watched the first sunrise and the first sunset.
But I also remember for some reason, God Love’s us. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Who are we that He is mindful of us? I don’t know … but He is.
Tomorrow, the sun will rise and the sun will set. Again I will look upon the splendor. But even more, I will reflect on His love. And that is true splendor.
I hope you too know His love … Be blessed.
