If you spend any amount of time on the internet, you’ve probably already seen the latest viral vid of the bison that seems to be joyfully dancing because spring has arrived. The dude is exuberant. I want to think the NC Zoo for posting this video.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love spring. Flowers, cool weather, better days for hiking, more daylight hours, and so much more. And I get excited about things too. But this video made me think. What gets me so excited that I want to get up and just bust a move, boogie, shake my groove thing? (Yeah, yeah, I realize my moves aren’t too much to bust, and Lisa makes fun of me when I even try – but I don’t think the bison cared what others think, and sometimes neither do I).
Back to issue – what makes you wanna dance? A great song on your iTunes/Spotify? A victory from your Cinderella team in March Madness? That special look from the one you love?
People dance for fitness, for artistry, for other reasons. But maybe we dance because we need to express something where words can’t get it across. It shows what we truly feel, and what our heart wants to express. Dancing is a shout out for expressing our inward feelings.
I guess the question shouldn’t be why we dance, but why don’t we dance.
Have a great weekend and spend some time moving to the heart – just dance!
