It’s a magical place. Its global.
And I loved watching people
Yesterday, I drove from Congaree NP to Orlando. I arrived around dinner time (so yes, I ventured through work traffic – ugh). I spent hours exploring the Springs of Disney. Stores. Restaurants. A few Christmas decorations. And thousands and thousands of people.
Clean. Spacious. Eye candy everywhere. did I mention thousands and thousands of people. And people watchers heaven.

I probably was the only one there with books to read and studying to do. I stopped by the Irish pub (honoring Notre Dame’s win) and got fish and chips. I sat at an outside seats and just read, studied, and watched people. My table of one.

I recognized seven different languages. Others I didn’t. Way lots of infants being pushed around. Lots of Mickey Mouse swag. And happiness. I mean, it’s supposed to be the happiest place on earth. (Well, this is the indulgence center, not the park, so keep that in mind)
A few observations …
- Few were obsessed with being on social media … they were there, in the moment
- Politeness was real … apologies for bumping, door holding, patience
- Way more adults than kids … lots of Gen Z, a few grandparents keeping the kids (I bet the WDW park was more kids)
- No expense was spared here … but they were having primo people buying at primo prices … yet very few people were complaining (they came understanding I presume)
What would church be like if we took this approach …
- People focused on each other, not their phone
- People caring for each other, not their entitlements
- People from all walks of life-all types getting along, and enjoying it
- No expense spared when it cones to reaching people
A hundred years from now, this place will be, well gone/changed/grown over.
But God’s church is forever. So which one do you really want to go to?
