Road Trip Spring 2025 – C

It took an hour to get through Midland. The grandkid had 5 extra potty breaks. 7.5 hours took 11. We missed gas at Rio Grande Village by 5 minutes. We listened to spidey and friends repeatedly. We listened to spidey and friends repeatedly. Yes, repeatedly.

Interesting. I first wrote down the short comings. All too common. The song doesn’t say, ‘count your burdens,’ it says, ‘count your blessings!’

So, let’s throw some of the mass blessings before you.

  • Safety
  • Got gas down below $2.40
  • I spent time with my son and grandson … three generations of Estes’ men … watch out world
  • Breakfast at Chik-Fil-A
  • Beautiful scenery
  • Wow … sunset looking out to ‘The Window’ in the Chisos Basin (see pic below)
  • FaceTime with Lisa then my DIL who got to see her son playing with fossils
  • My sons gaseous explosions were limited
  • Speaking of gas – almost 20 mpg in the FJ – yes 20 mpg
  • This place is not what I expected … it is so much more … superb beauty, mountains reaching the sky as they are surrounded by the chihuahua desert, a hidden valley in the basin, and more
  • Bought grandson a hat and found out it was 90% off
  • And more. I will write about the park itself in days to come

Bottom line … count your burdens or count your blessings. I choose blessings. What about you?

And these …

And finally …

Don’t miss the early morning iaddendum
