IT’S A NEW YEAR … #1

IT’S A NEW YEAR – 10 GOALS

I recently read we shouldn’t make “resolutions” but goals – things for which to aim and to which we work forward. I also came across a great article titled: “10 Resolutions every Christian can make: Ten Christ-Centered resolutions designed to help you reset your hear, renew your faith, and begin the year rooted in God’s presence.”

Goals mean stumbles aren’t failures but learning curves towards the target. So let’s spend a few days looking at these non-resolutions, or personal goals.

#1 – The Goal to begin each day in God’s presence!

Don’t look at the phone. Don’t start the coffee. Don’t think about your to-do list. But just say simply, “Good morning, Lord. This is your day and I want to remember you are with me every step of the way.”

Then, start that coffee, brush your teeth, or whatever your morning routine is. God invites you to deepen your relationship. So acknowledge his nearness. No agenda is required, just awareness.

Forget to do this one day? Don’t fret. Just pick it back up  the next day.

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” —Psalm 46:10

What does tomorrow hold for us?
