2026 Goals for Christians #6

A recent event in American culture is the tragic shooting of Renee Good. This post is not about the shooting but about the various approaches to which people come when viewing the exact same video clips. If you are in support of the Renee … you see it one way and thus come to certain conclusions. If you are in support of the federal agents … you see it the exact opposite. Same video – same event – opposite perspective.

I take this quandary and realize we approach everything with certain types of presuppositions. So, today, I challenge that our goal is to have a perspective of gratitude.

And let it be the choice in every situation – I will be thankful.

6. Resolve to let gratitude shape your perspective

Praise and thanksgiving aren’t confined to music. Expressing gratitude positions us to focus on who God is. As we choose to focus on all the Lord has done in our lives, our burdens begin to feel lighter in the presence of God’s love.

Practice:When stress or discouragement rises, intentionally thank God for who he is. Watch how praise shifts your focus and restores peace.

“Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.” —Psalm 106:1

So … I should be thankful for hugs and vegetables – okay, I’ll work on the vegetables.
