So … My kid (adult, male, 1200 miles away) asked what he should get his mother for Mother’s Day this weekend. I didn’t answer directly, she really has everything she needs. Maybe a FaceTime with him and the family down in the Lone Star State.
But, after much contemplation … I’ve got the best thing each kid can give there mama. Something that should bring every mama a smile to their face …
GO TO CHURCH.
And if possible, go to church with her. Sit next to her. Hold the hymnal for her (yes, hymnal, for those that still have those.) Hold her hand when you pray. Hug her … and yes, I said the H word.
GO TO CHURCH.
And, if you can, go with her next week. And the week after that. Maybe, in the end … she will say she is going to church with you.
