Thursday’s Thirty Second Thought Provoker (okay, maybe 60 seconds)
I’m a strong advocate for the power of prayer. We take our burdens, requests, cares, and problems. We lift our praises and give our thanks. But we shouldn’t stop there.
I’ve been challenged from the life of Nehemiah. When he heard that Jerusalem was in ruins, he didn’t pray for restoration. He didn’t pray for miracles. He prayed for a door of opportunity.
“Lord, give success to your servant before this man …” Or in other words – give me the opportunity to work the problem, to help with the solution, to be your hands in rebuilding. Use me God.
So … stop praying only for miracles, start asking for opportunities!

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Jesus (Matt 7.7-8)
