What is the church? Is it the building? Kind of. Is it a set of beliefs? Not really. Is it a historical trail of followers? That may be a history but … no. Is it the people? BINGO. A building can be destroyed. History can be forgotten. Beliefs aren’t what Jesus came to save. But people … people are the church …
So, when we moved the place of worship yesterday from not to be inside the building we normally meet in, church still met. People gathered, hymns were sung, the Word was shared, and the family fellowshipped.

So we relocated from our little corner of a rural community … travelled just 15 miles … gathered at church owned small camp … that had been converted from farm land … and worshipped. Okay, we had a fabulous spread of food afterwards and people will gather when they are feed. But …. the Family WORSHIPPED.
We had 2 new pole tents. We used outdoor picnic tables. We set up a portable sound system. And we worshipped. Okay, the fact of no cell service and no wifi meant no stream, but we worshipped.
It couldn’t have happened without a vision to get it accomplished. Vision. That was what we talked about. We shared little about what it takes to follow through on a vision.

Determine who & who’s you are …
We are God’s creation and He has something in store for us. We were created for worship. And we were created to worship together. And I can think of no greater place to worship Him than in the midst of His creation … trees, open fields, a little lake to swim and fish, some shade, partial clouds … they declare His glory.
His vision for our life is bigger & better than we’ve had the courage to ever hope for.
Decide on a goal …
Worship, outside, fellowship, a reminder about what it means to worship God. Relax in the afternoon with food and a dip in water or relaxing casting a fishing line.
Create action steps …
Pray about the decision, reserve the location, communicate, plan the event, communicate, get the supplies, communicate, set up, communicate. break down, communicate … and more.
Take the first step …
In this case, it was seek insight from leadership, share the vision, than begin the process.
Feed the passion …
Keep the vision in front of you. Keep your eyes on the goal. Remember why you are doing it. Don’t get lost in details to remember … it’s a worship.
Vision … without one, we end up in despair. I am so glad we worshipped outdoors yesterday. I am so thankful for the church that allowed us to use their farm/camp.
Stay connected to a team …
I couldn’t have done this without the help of so many … purchase the tent, get AV set up, practice with praise team, transport, set up, prep food … this is so much a team effort … no one could ever have done this on their own.
