Five Thoughts on Prayer – #5

To win the fight, you have to have the right strategy and the right resources. Because victories don’t come by accident.

Okay – this one isn’t from Andrew Murray’s book. It’s from the Kendrick Brothers’ The Battle Plan for Prayer. You see, prayer is a powerful tool in our Spiritual Warfare. That’s not exactly correct. Prayer isn’t a tool for the battle. Prayer is the battle. If you can keep Christians distracted, ignoring the importance of deepening our relationship with God.

I grew up … let’s say a while back. One of the music artist I enjoyed was Carmen (one name, like Prince). He had several songs that he put in engaging music videos. He had several that connected prayer to warfare … Witch’s Invitation, Devil Bites the Dust … and the the one I just listened to today … Revival in the Land.

The devil had many strongholds … but of what was he afraid? The prayers of the “sanctified, blood bought, saints of God on their knees in prayer!”

So … we need to grasp the reality that prayer is warfare. Go to Ephesians 6. Did into the power of prayer. Realize …

Victories do not come by accident. So let’s win this fight. Let’s prayer harder – deeper – vigilantly. Let’s start today
