Two Minute Tuesday – A Simple Challenge

The city was in chaos. The people had no real leadership. Confusion and brokenness and they had forgotten God and we’re living in shame. This is how they described Jerusalem to Nehemiah.

He didn’t complain. He didn’t whine and act all superior. He didn’t get on a high horse and post on Facebook or Twitter. Nor did he ignore it and go back to his daily routine. What did he do?

As soon as I heard these words I sat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven – Neh 1.4

Simple challenge today. When you hear, read, see what is happening around our country, think about your response. Anger? Don’t really care? Arrogance?

How about brokenness?

As soon as I heard these words about what was going on in Atlanta, Minneapolis, Washington, Richmond, I sat down and wept and was heart broken for the people and our nation, and I kept on praying before the God of heaven … for mercy, wisdom, and doors of opportunity for me to help.

Lord, draw us back to You.

Lord, draw me back to You.
