For this week … I want to give five quotes about prayer from the Christian Classic, “With Christ in the School of Prayer.”
Short quotes.
Thought provoking questions.
Practical suggestions.
Today …
“The man who mobilizes the Christian church to pray will make the greatest contribution to world evangelization in history.”
Think about it … we have way too many ‘program’s, ‘events’, opportunities … but not enough prayer. We meet in committee, we function through business meetings, we have leadership prompting … but we also spend minimal time in prayer, minimal time seeking His direction, minimal time aligning ourselves to His ways and asking Him to align with us and our ways. We don’t even really seek approval, we sometimes just inform Him.
But, if we pray, we truly align ourselves with His ways, our hearts align with His heart and we care about what He cares about … people … people’s souls. God loved the world.
So, for what does your church mobilize? What makes your church really want to gather? Is it concerts? Special programs? Car shows? Or as it is in Baptist circle’s … food?
What will it take to mobilize for prayer?
What will that look like in the life of the church?
How can you help make this happen?
Today ….
- Stop and ask God to make your church a praying church!
- Ask your pastor/leadership for prayer requests for the church.
- Really look at the church’s prayer list and pray.
